Overlooking San Pablo Bay, Calmére Estate Winery is a Napa Valley winery experience born from the richness of the land. With sweeping views, olive trees, organic gardens, and plenty of entertaining space, Calmére’s aesthetic experience brings the outdoors in, and connects people to what is natural, sustainable, and alive.
In the spirit of creating something that begins in the field and ends in a glass, the first floor tasting room flanks the production area. Open views offer people the opportunity to be a part of the process from start to finish. Designed to reflect the textures and various elements of the land, the tasting room features details as diverse as rusted metal bar carts, a leather banquette, large concrete, metal bistro tables, blown glass, a rollup garage door, and reclaimed wood walls. The wood used for the walls hails from the family’s Pope Valley property and layers their family history into the space.
Calmére Estate’s design reclaims traditions from the outdoors and makes them modern and fresh in a space that’s both industrial and natural. It’s a return to something familiar, in an entirely unexpected way. With the land as a steward, many of Calmére’s design elements are all locally sourced or made by local artisans. Beautiful buildings from the property like an old tractor barn and pavilion were preserved and refurbished to provide further experiences that serve the purpose of connecting people back to the land.
